Katie and Jordan: Engagement Session at Railroad Park

It’s always a good day to have a engagement session at Railroad Park. As a wedding photographer in Birmingham, I pretty much have all the good spots scouted out so when Jordan and Katie started planning their session with me, I knew Railroad Park was the perfect place to kick it off.

Spring had not yet peaked, but thankfully there was no rain. Besides a little overcast skies, the weather cooperated and the sun even came out and totally peeked through the trees in a few of these images. Anytime natural light works in our favor, I’m happy because I love that sunlight glow. ☀️

After Railroad Park, Jordan, Katie and I headed to Morris Avenue, another favorite of mine here in Birmingham. Katie has this absolutely stunning dark, auburn hair and the way the sunlight was falling on her hair has me obsessed with these pictures! My newborn looks like she may have this same color hair, so I’m a huge fan and hope she looks like Katie when she grows up!

Jordan and Katie were such a dream to work with. They are very go-with- the-flow and just a laid back couple which already tells me their wedding day in November will be a relaxed and chill day- something every bride and groom hope to have.

Katie’s ring is so special because of the intentional thought and creative planning it took to make her dream ring come to life. As Jordan and Katie started to get more serious, of course, the conversation of rings started to happen more and more. Jordan knew exactly what Katie’s ring should look like, but unfortunately, there was just nothing out there that had the specific details that Jordan knew Katie had dreamt about for a long time.

So, in true groom fashion, Jordan was a man with a plan and refused to accept just any ordinary ring. Instead, he decided to work hand in hand with the jeweler until they could create a custom, one-of-a-kind ring that Katie could wear as a symbol of their love for the rest of her life.

I can’t imagine her ring turning out any more perfect than this solitaire masterpiece. It is stunning. I love that Jordan made it happen and it’s just a testament of how much Jordan and Katie love each other. This ring is not just a ring, but a sentimental trademark that will forever hold a valuable piece of their story together.

I can’t wait to show you more from these two in November, but for now- stay tuned! ❤️
