Birmingham Botanical Gardens Engagement

Evan and McKenna’s Birmingham Botanical Gardens Engagement Session turned out literally perfect! They are actually high school sweethearts and met their junior year through a mutual friend. Even though they went to different high schools, they started dating and have been together ever since. I’m a sucker for any love story, but there’s just something about young love that sticks around forever. It just gets me every time!

We started the day at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, one of my favorite locations to shoot in downtown Birmingham. I loved the outfits that McKenna planned out for the shoot. She spent so much time and effort planning everything and it totally paid off. It seems like a simple task, but putting outfits together like this is a tough job. McKenna picked some classy, yet timeless pieces that will never go out of style.

It was perfect Alabama weather for this engagement session. 75 and sunny is what every bride and groom-to-be hope for, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Luckily for us, we had the best weather I’ve seen in a long time. We had the perfect sunset and couldn’t have picked better lighting if we tried! The sun had a warm golden glow and the images turned out absolutely stunning.

Evan wore a blue color that made McKenna’s eyes pop and her white dress was EVERYTHING. Can y’all tell I’m obsessing over them? 😍 After Birmingham Botanical Gardens, we headed over to Southside Baptist Church which is my other favorite place to shoot in downtown Birmingham.
Again, these two had perfect, classy outfits for the occasion, and their bold choice stuck out so beautifully at this particular location.

My favorite part about engagement sessions is just getting to know the couple, hearing their story and just the overall anticipation for the big day.
Evan is super quiet, and McKenna is bubbly which just makes the perfect combo for them as a couple and a team.

Evan and McKenna will be getting married next summer at The Barn at Shady Lane. I absolutely love shooting at this venue, so I cannot wait to see another couple tie the knot at this beautiful location. These two make the perfect couple and I’m over the moon excited for them to get married.
