Luke and Mary Catherine: Downtown Birmingham Engagement

Mary Catherine and Luke met me at Morris Avenue for the first part of their Downtown Birmingham Engagement Session. They will be getting married soon and the days are going by so quickly, so this session was a must.

Mary Catherine’s sister, Megan met us for the session as well. She is due with identical twin baby girls. Although she will not be able to make the wedding because of her due date, she was able to meet us to get some pictures with her sister. It was the sweetest thing and we were able to capture some precious moments between the two of them.

Megan is also newly engaged, and will be getting married in the coming months as well. Like Megan, I am also due three days before Mary Catherine and Luke’s wedding so fingers crossed that I will be able to photograph their wedding. If not, my associate will be happy to be there for their big day.

Mary Catherine and Luke are seriously the most photogenic couple! They were non-stop fun and you can just tell how much Luke adores his bride-to be. Their story is the cutest and I can’t help but share why their second location, the parking deck near the Redmont Hotel in Downtown Birmingham was so important to them.

It all started on the wedding night of two mutual friends between Mary Catherine and Luke. Although they attended the same school and had some similar friendship circles, these two never really had the chance to get to know each other past acquaintances. As the wedding night progressed, Luke and Mary Catherine really started to get to know one another which truly began their whirlwind romance. Luke even told his friends that night that he knew Mary Catherine was the girl he was going to marry. It’s a literal fairytale y’all.

Because of the importance of the Redmont to Mary Catherine and Luke, we made sure to get plenty of photos with this beautiful building in the background, so I thought it was the perfect place to take pictures.

The light was particularly amazing on this night and we have truly had the best weather here in Birmingham lately. It was the perfect night for an engagement session on the parking deck, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for these two.
