Lake Guntersville Lodge

Averi and Nick’s wedding went off without a hitch at Lake Guntersville Lodge and I’m absolutely stoked to show y’all these pictures. 😍 It was such a beautiful Spring wedding in May with a ceremony overlooking Guntersville. Everything about this wedding was perfect from start to finish, but my favorite thing about this day was seeing Averi and Nick put God first in their marriage and commit their new life to Him.

Averi and Nick met at Auburn during their freshman year. They happened to be in the same class together and the rest is history. They dated throughout college and were engaged at Vulcan Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

Averi’s friends prayed over her before the ceremony began, and I couldn’t think of a better way to start the day. Averi also did a first look with her dad, which included many tears, but happy tears nonetheless.

One of the most beautiful elements of the day was all of the florals. Averi’s face was filled with excitement as soon as she saw them. They turned out absolutely beautiful and it is no wonder that they were Averi’s favorite detail of the day.

Several times throughout the day we caught a lady bug on Averi’s dress and flowers. This was so special because a ladybug was something that they remember Averi’s grandmother by, so it was like she was there, staying present with Averi throughout the day.

The bride and groom were the sweetest couple and I’m still obsessing over them and their tender love for one another. They bought each other gifts that displayed their love for each other, but also their love for Christ. Averi bought a leather-bound Bible for Nick and he bought her a leather canvas with a Bible verse inscribed on it. Tears were shed just watching them unwrap their gifts, I just knew that the tears held more meaning than just gratitude for the gifts, but also gratitude for their faith in God.

The friends and family of Averi and Nick all had the same thing to say about the bride and groom- that they put God first in everything. What a beautiful sentiment and attributes to be known by.

Nick saw Averi for the first time when she walked down the aisle. Of course, there were more tears, and it was such a special time to be a wedding photographer. I don’t just take pictures, I get to witness once-in-a lifetime-moments like these near a beautifully displayed cross. Moments that join man and woman together forever. Moments that create a family. Averi and Nick finished the ceremony by participating in communion together.

Although there were some overcast skies throughout the day, we still had a stunning view from Lake Guntersville Lodge. We thought the sun would finally peak out the end and we were totally surprised by this jaw-dropping sunset. I am so glad the skies were showing off because these pictures are never going to go out of style.

Every element of the day was filled with love and happiness for Averi and Nick and it was so obvious to everyone around how much they are loved by family and friends. No-one said it better than the parents themselves during the speeches at the reception. The speeches were so heart-felt and again the happy tears only showcased how much the bride and groom mean to their families. They could only gush about Averi and Nick and how good to each other they both are. They expressed that they couldn’t have chosen better spouses for their son and daughter. Averi and Nick are truly a match made in Heaven and I couldn’t be more proud to call myself their wedding photographer.
