Allison and Anthony’s engagement session is ready and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with y’all! They brought their little dachshunds along and oh my, just look at these cuties! 😍 Their names are Princess and Shorty and they are thirteen and eighteen years old! I couldn’t believe how photogenic they were and totally sat there for every single shot.
I think bringing your fur babies along to a session makes it more fun and brings a sense of ease to the bride and groom-to-be. It helps when your dogs are little models. I’m sure these images will be the favorites for years to come.
We started off at Railroad Park in the downtown area, and little did we know, it was game day at UAB so of course there were people everywhere. It definitely took us a few minutes to find each other and get through the crowds of people, but it was totally worth it.
Being a photographer in Birmingham, AL, you have to be flexible and of course always checking the weather. 😜 The whole day before Allison and Anthony’s session, I checked the weather forecast to make sure the rain was going to stay away. Sure enough, it said zero percent chance of rain. Although it held off for most of the session, the clouds kept getting darker and eventually it did start to sprinkle at our second location on Morris Avenue.
When we got there the sun was totally hiding behind some rain clouds, but once we decided to head over to a bridge for more shots, we realized the light was much better from there.
We were thankful that the weather wasn’t too bad and that we didn’t have to re-schedule. These pictures turned out perfectly and Allison and Anthony were awesome sports and totally went with the flow.
Allison and Anthony will be getting married in April of 2022 at the Barn at Shady Lane right here close to Birmingham so I can’t wait to show you guys more from these two.
What I love most about being a wedding photographer in Birmingham, AL is of course meeting brides and grooms like Allison and Anthony.
We had a blast and I couldn’t get enough of their dogs!
Sometimes life throws you curveballs. Am I right? Maybe it’s something bigger than traffic downtown or a rainy day for pictures. When days like this come, finding the positives in every situation is vital. It can be difficult to look at the glass half full when the negatives keep finding their way back to you. With God’s help, and the arms of a loved around you, you can have the support you need to make each day a better day.
I’m so happy that Allison and Anthony will have each other for the years ahead and I cannot wait to be a part of their wedding day in April. Congratulations, you two! I’m looking forward to seeing where this new life stage takes you both.
