Brittany And Griffin: Iowa Engagement Session

I’m so pumped to show you guys all the pretty pictures from my recent trip to Iowa for this gorgeous engagement session. It was neat to shoot an Iowa Engagement Session. Fun fact: Brittany is actually my older sister, so of course, I was ecstatic to see her and meet my future brother-in-law, Griffin, for the first time.

I’m not going to lie. Finding a location in Iowa when it is rainy and still cold season proved to be harder than we thought it would be. I knew we only had a two day window, so there was no choice but to make the most of the weather and get these pictures done!

Because of the pouring rain, our original plan for the first location didn’t work out. We started driving around the surrounding areas, scouting locations for these two to get their pictures started, and we found this apartment building, former library, and the images honestly turned out stunning. I’m so glad we decided to go for it because this neutral backdrop is just everything!

Our plan to keep Brittany and Griffin covered from the rain worked out perfectly because we found this cute little gazebo downtown that provided shelter but also added character to the shoot.

The next day, the rain lightened up a little, and I was able to get some shots of the bride and groom-to-be next to these clean white walls. I love white, light and airy so I was living for all the neutral backdrops. I’m especially obsessed with the way Brittany’s ring popped next to these white columns. I mean 😍😍😍

We even found an amphitheater that added a very cool touch! Even though the nearby pond was still frozen because… Iowa 🤣 I was so pleased with how our last day played out. There was a cute little barn that we took advantage of before heading downtown one more time for some fun pictures in their Hawkeye gear.

I am already getting excited for my next trip to Iowa in September for Brittany and Griffin’s wedding! These engagement shots turned out beautifully and honestly, these two were such good sports the entire time even with unpredictable weather.
