Backyard Winter: Wedding in Winfield Alabama

Drew and Allie had a dreamy Backyard Winter Wedding in Winfield, Alabama in December. Every detail was so beautiful and classy. I love the pink details and the invitation suite that was captured so perfectly before the ceremony.

This day will always be easy for me to remember because I birthed my newborn daughter the day before. 🤣 Of course, I knew this was a possibility, but when Avery came two weeks early, I was honestly shocked! I thought Drew and Allie would be my last wedding before Maternity Leave but my child had other plans. Although I was sad I wasn’t able to be there for Allie and Drew, my friend Maegan was more than willing to step in for me during my absence and she did an incredible job. My second shooter, Mady came along as well and I’m so thankful they were able to be there.

Not only was I on the phone and answering emails to coordinate, but Allie was on the other end at the re-hearsal dinner getting the news for the first time that I wouldn’t be able to make it. She and Drew were so gracious and flexible with me as we worked out the details of the wedding day going forward. Not to mention, tornadoes came through Alabama which meant a lot of bad weather and figuring out backup plans. Allie is a trooper! Thankfully, everything worked out and these two got hitched one way or another. 😍

Allie and Drew were married right after sunset surrounded by family and friends and the prettiest Christmas decorations you’ve ever seen! Their Christmas-theme was perfect for the occasion with a festive but classy color palette.

Allie and I were able to spend some time together at her bridal session, and I’m so glad we were able to do that now, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to be present at her wedding.

Although it was still a chilly winter evening, Allie and Drew were not only able to have their ceremony outside, but also all of the bridal party photos, family photos, and bride and groom first look photos as well. They were able to do almost all of the pictures before dark making the timeline of the ceremony work out perfectly.

Drew and Allie had a sparkler exit and she wore the prettiest coat that matched her bridesmaids and flower girl’s coats as well. I loved her smaller wedding party because it gave the whole wedding day an intimate vibe and gave Maegan the chance to have some fun and do different poses that she may not be able to do with a larger party.

I’m so grateful for Allie and Drew trusting me and the people that I hired to take my place. Although we never expected to use my backup plan, I’m so glad we had one and that we were prepared. This wedding was everything I’d hoped it would be and I couldn’t ask for better images of Allie and Drew on their wedding day.

Congrats, you two!
